This is not a joke, everything is possible in China, especially with the geant chinese e-commerce portal Taobao of the Alibaba group. This 20th November, A China’s biggest private courier buys two Boeing 747-400 freighters ($48m; £36m).
To make it easy to do business anywhere.
This is Alibaba’s corporate slogan, It means just like it says, for those who don’t know Taobao, Taobao is an online auction website similar to eBay, owned by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba. But we never seen like a sale on internet before, no one dare to buy or sell a plane in the internet ecommerce history, and this is how Alibaba did, they didn’t lie when they present their slogan in this way.
The Story is very simple, Three planes had some issues in their sell, have been in storage in the cities of Shanghai and Shenzhen since 2013, since then had been looking for a buyer. Six failed attempts at offline private auctions organised by the seller in the past few years, WITH NO CHANCE .Finally, This month the owner suggest to try an online auction, No place better than AliBaba’s Taobao. The bidding took place on Nov. 20, with a starting bid of 122.6 million yuan.
The Chinese carrier bid more than 320 million yuan ($48 million) for two Boeing 747 freighter planes, according to the Xinhua News Agency, which cited the seller: the Intermediate People’s Court of Shenzhen City. A third plane failed to sell.
